The online wood technology encyclopaedia WOOD TEC PEDIA is a freely accessible publication of technical terms, innovations, illustrations, brochures, manufacturer information, series, machine designations, purchasing advice, dismantling instructions, wear characteristics, historical classifications and much more from the field of woodworking technology.

2021 - 10 years of WOOD TEC PEDIA

• People interested in wood technology from many different areas of wood processing, but also machine manufacturers, dealers, recyclers, banks and leasing companies regularly use the encyclopaedia.
• It now contains almost 30,000 entries (different machines, technical terms, ..), 23,000 pictures, over 20,000 brochures and over 800 videos.
• With the translation into 8 languages, the share of international users increased.

Initiator and publisher is Höchsmann GmbH, a leading international trading house for used woodworking technology. In 2016, a comprehensive revision of the encyclopaedia, which has been public and free to use since May 2011, took place.

WOOD TEC PEDIA also presents models which are no longer in production.

• WOOD TEC PEDIA is not an advertising platform for single manufacturers/ products, but concentrates on neutral presentation preferably all wood technology offerer/ products.

History of WOOD TEC PEDIA

In the mid-1990’s, the Höchsmann company started to become intensively involved in second-hand machinery.

Whilst compiling suitable and interesting articles for our new company magazine, the idea emerged in 2009 to widely publicize the brochures we had collected throughout the previous years. The result after countless hours of work on the part of our specialist editors and our IT- and marketing experts, is a popular platform used throughout the world, offering knowledge and information on manufacturers, types of machines, machine series, technical texts, images, brochures and videos. In 2016 we reached a total of approx. 50 000 entries.
