DIMTER optimalizace polohy otáčení

Term used in the sector wood optimization, i.a. in massive wood floor production.

If a defect in the wood can only be seen on one side of the workpiece, the other side can still be evaluated as high product quality (quality optimisation) and be processed further. Since the front side and the lateral areas of the workpiece are profiled for massive wood floors, smaller wood defects at the edges of the workpieces may remain, since they will be eventually erased during profiling.

  • Prerequisite: The workpiece has to be fed to profiling with the correct orientation (position).

The manufacturer 'Dimter' solves this problem by precisely measuring the dimensions of the defect using scanner technology. Thus, it can be determined in which cases the profiling will erase the defect and in which cases it is necessary to cut out the defect beforehand. The complex rotational position optimization results in four possible positions of the workpieces. After the measuring and trimming, the workpieces are automatically rotated or turned as needed to then pass them on to the next production process.

The image shows a part of the mechanization (curve band) for rotating the workpiece around its own axis.
