Anderlon is a material mix used for the production of bristles for brush-grinding tools or brush-structuring tools. Anderlon is also known under the trademark Tynex or Tynex A of the manufacturer DuPont.

Structure

The basic material is polypropylene (PP) or polyester (PE). Abrasive grit is added to this and the bristles are made from it. The result is an abrasive that retains its abrasive effect even when worn, as new abrasive grit is constantly released as the plastic wears. Depending on the desired abrasiveness or type of material to be sanded, the following abrasive grit materials are used:

  • Aluminium oxide (corundum) and chromium oxide
  • boron nitride
  • ceramic, diamond ceramic and diamond grain
  • Silicon carbide
  • zirconium
