Term from the solid wood cutting process on mitre saws with machine controls and Programme stop. The foundation is a processing list, which contains target lengths and quantities as well as workpieces with an input length, either given or determined through automatic length registration by the cross cut saw.

  • Variation 1: Mitre saw without automatic length registration of the raw workpiece - simplest variation.
  • pure ruses cut: The workpiece-input length and the target workpiece length and quantities will be entered manually in the control and the machine works off the positions one by one. There is no optimization. When the length is shorter than the current target length, the rest will be postponed unprocessed. Further positions of the processing list will be first taken into account, when the current position has been worked off or deselected manually. Also possible is the data transmission from an external source in the control (depending on technological equipment, interfaces,..).
  • typical applications can be found in the palette and box production with repetitive lengths/ quantities.
  • Variation 2: Automatic lengh registration of the raw workpieces; consideration of the entire processing list (length optimization)
  • In the entrance of the cross cut saw, the measuring device (measuring station, z.B. DIMTER OptiCut 200, measuring belt, z.B. DIMTER OptiCut 150, light sensor, ..), which gauges the workpiece input length. They will transmitted to the machine controls, where at the same time the comparison of the data of the still to-be worked off processing list is taking place.
  • The cut-off-saw takes priority in the biggest lengths (programmed lengths) possible (part optimisation).
  • For the leftover pieces the next greatest fixing length possible is being looked for.
  • If the leftover piece is shorter than the shortest fixing length, the leftover piece will be deselected as waste.
  • When the waste is to be limited, one has to enter a maximum permitted waste length (partly optimization with waste limitation). Here e.g. short workpieces for wedge dovetail joints are created (so-called wedge dovetail joint lengths).
