Construction and mechanism

These units consist of several rotating discs on which 4 rotating sanding brushes are each affixed. The group of discs and brushes is called planetary unit. The rotation speed of the brushing is individually adjustable from the disc rotation speed as brushing and discs are each being powered by own frequency reshapers. According to the manufacturing details the secret for the good polish is a low brushing rotational speed and an utterly high disc rotational speed.

3 motions of the units for an optimal polish:

• Rotating of the sanding brushes
• Counter-rotation of the brush holder discs
• Lateral motion of the carrier construction

The transmission of the motors on the planetary units take place via belt-free geares in an oil bath. Sanding pressure and working heights are to be setup over a linear drive.

The lateral extraction of the units on prism guides and the quick connection system of brushing discs facilitates a better changeover and better maintenance of the units.

Spplications

• Frame sanding: the planetary unit leaves no sanding tracks with sanding transversal for texture.
• Longitudinal sanding: Higher surface quality with longitudinal sanding than with common longitudinal sanding units
• Fine sanding, lacquer sanding: optimal trimming of wood fibre before the coating and after the 1st coating round, opening of the wood spores, respectively.
• Structure sanding: in all directions possible, e.g. structuring of frame
• Sanding of melamin resin coating
• Roughening of structured melamin resin coating.
• Fine sanding for coating MDF-panels determined with high-gloss foils
• Fine sanding of coating panels for preparing the application of high-gloss coating.

The combination of the planetary units with different sanding units is possible.
