The company Schmiedel machines and vehicle construction GmbH offers the production line of metal parts and metal constructions and produces special vehicles and machines. In 2002 Schmiedel Gmbh bought the machine construction business KLEINER ALBUS and took over the production of the HAPFO pole lathe. The distribution fo the machines stayed with the trading companies Pfohl Handels- Gmbh & Co. KG. HAPFO woodturning machines, which have been built at Schmiedel with the type name to be seen on the initial letters „SP“, the first letters of both involved companies.

Four years later the production of the HAPFO turning lathe machines is taken over by the newly-founded gh-tec Maschinenbau GmbH.
