With CNC-machining centres the air cushion function is exclusively found within Nesting machines.

With this the vacuum system of the machine table is used and air pressure is blown out so that under an issued panel an air cushion is created. Through this, the air cushion can be shoven over the table much more easily.

The air cushion function can be used in two different ways:

• The protection board is affixed on the machine table and the air cushion will be - similar to the vacuum sucking through - created by the protection board and the workpieces laying on top can be easly pushed away.

• The protection board is lying loose. Several protection boards are used in a type of throughfeed system. Protection boards and workpieces are both pushed by the machine table and a new protection board with a laid-on raw plate is simultaneously pushed onto it.
