IMA BIMA

Short DescriptionDesignation for all stationary CNC machining centers of the manufacturer IMA . In 1982, IMA began with the development of a new generation of machines. These were machines, which, just like a CNC-machining centre, had an aggregates support as well as a fixed machine bed. The smallest machine in this series - the model BIMA 1 (due to its conspicuous form also called "Kabinenroller") was a completely stationary point-to-point machine. The largest model in the series - the model BIMA 7 was a through-feed line with several aggregates supports for drilling and for the insertion of fittings. However later, IMA used the brand name BIMA only for stationary machines, but which could also be integrated into production lines. In 1987, IMA, for the first time, introduced a stationary machine with edgebanding aggregate - the model BIMA 500V. In the early 1990s, IMA used 3-digit numbers for identifying the standard types of its BIMA series, followed by the letter "V" (for machines with edgebanding aggregate) and "R" (for machines with 5-axis technology). Some machines for special purposes or special models with preconfigured equipment do not follow this pattern, but have a word name (e.g. BIMA Quadroflex, BIMA CUT). | IMA BIMA
