SCM PRISMA

5-axes spindle

It is a working spindle with 5 axes for CNC-machining centres, which was introduced by SCM in 2002.

The Prisma spindle is a prism head, which is available in different types and power levels.

The first generation of the 5-axis head, which was introduced in 2002, had a comparatively high demand on space and was very heavy.

In 2003, a more compact and lightweight version of the prism head was introduced, the model "Prisma K", with lower performance, especially at lower speeds.

The second generation of Prisma spindles, which was introduced in 2006, could be designed in much more space-saving way, because of the TTS-system. The differentiation between "Prisma" for heavy and high-performance spindles and "Prisma K" for compact spindles was maintained.
