Planing unit

Planing shafts in wide belt sanders, which are equipped with individual blades, arranged in a spiral. The individual blades are disposable blades, which can be used 4 times by turning them around.

During calibrating of solid wood panels, which are composed from individual slats, the following problems often occur:

  • The slats are not equal in height, so that the panels have to be ground with high chip removal rates to get a flat workpiece surface. Higher chip removal also means an increased energy consumption by the motors.
  • The sanding belts get in contact with the glue from the glue joints and become matted with the glue and the sanding dust. This results in multiple grinding runs and frequent changes of the sanding belts.

Planer aggregates eliminate these problems. They can work with chip removal of up to 4 mm and are insensitive to glue. The table setting is the same as during grinding:

  • Fixed table for calibrating
  • Floating table for Schwimmender Tisch für das Abrichten

For processing in a single run, different aggregates with sanding belt follow the planer aggregate. These are typical configurations:

2 aggregate machines

3 aggregate machine

  • Planing shaft aggregate
  • Sanding rollers aggregate, sanding belt graining 120
  • Combined aggregate with roller and pad in the insert, sanding belt graining 180

4 aggregate machine

  • Planing shaft aggregate
  • Sanding rollers aggregate
  • Sanding rollers aggregate
  • Sanding pad aggregate

For safety reasons, the machine have a anti-kickback safety device (Anti-Kick-Back) and a segmented pressure beam.
