WINTERSTEIGER AG
Austrian company consisting of three divisions that are: SPORTS (ski service and rental), SEEDMECH (field test technology), WOODTECH (wood working) and METALS (Kohler Richttechnik). The sector WOODTECH deals with process solutions for quality thin-cutting (thin-cutting frame saws and thin-cutting band saws) as well as plants for the half- and fully-automatic wood surface repair work (Timber Repair & Cosmetics“ (TRC)).
History
2022 | As of 01 January 2022, WINTERSTEIGER AG has acquired a majority shareholding in HEMA Heermann Maschinenbau GmbH in Frickenhausen, Germany. HEMA develops, produces and sells band saws for materials and application areas with a focus on lightweight materials and insulating materials. WINTERSTEIGER AG will retain the Frickenhausen site and the HEMA brand. |
2019 | The WINTERSTEIGER AG takes over the SERRA Maschinenbau GmbH in Rimsting at Chiemsee, Germany in 1st Jan 2019. SERRA develops, produces and distributes for the mobile as well as stationary sawmill technology with around 40 damaged machines and sawblades. WINTERSTEIGER thus expands its business area.
Logs with a diameter of up to 160 cm are unravelled to be eventually further processed with the WINTERSTEIGER thincut sawing machine. |
2015 | Wintersteiger takes over Paul Ernst Maschinenfabrik GmbH/ Eschelbronn, manufacturer of grinding and deburring machines |
2013 | 60th anniversary; the company employs about 850 employees |

1963 | On demand of the company Fischer construction of the first ski-production machines: these were copy milling machines, bonders and finger jointing systems, which enabled the revolutionary type of "sandwich"-construction of alpine skis. Construction of the first stone grinding machine that was used by Fischer - this was (at the time) the revolutionary micro-surface grinding. |
