Edgeband thickness

Is the measure for the thickness of lippings which can be processed with an edgebander.

Limiting factors

The panel is aligned at the infeed fence and feeded in by the machine. Thus the infeed fence is the zero line. After application of the edgeband or lipping the workpiece has an increased width corresponding to the edgeband thickness. For this reason, the edgeband thickness needs to be adjusted individually at each unit. So the number of units increases so the setup time of the machine. Therefore, larger machines are equipped with pneumatically timed aggregates or with numerical controlled actuators for the adjustment of the aggregates. The maximum possible lipping thickness depends on the motor power of the processing units, especially the cut-off saw and trimming unit as well as the cutting tools used.
