HOMAG AP system

Self-adjusting machine table for CNC-machining centres, used by the HOMAG group. The AP system is available in various expansion levels with different functions.

In 2008, HOMAG introduced the AP system as successor of the AutoClamp-table and the PT-table. It is a system for the automatic positioning of suction cups, where both the consoles and the suction cups are moved by the CNC-control.

Practically, AP system and AutoClamp-table are largely identical. It is a pod and rail table with consoles that are arranged transversely to the machine frame.

Compared to the previous system, the speed of positioning was optimized, the position of guides and driving elements was changed to ensure a more reliable work, even with large amounts of dust and swarf, and the changing of clamping devices was simplified.

It is possible to reclamp workpieces or move separated panels apart during the editing program by the movements of the machine table. Holding devices are used, where the actual clamping devices are mounted. These functions were taken over from the PT table.

The AP system is used on machining centers of the companies HOMAG and WEEKE.
