A counter bearing is an additional spindle bearing on the non-driven side of spindles.

• Bearings on spindles, hydraulically clamped using a high-pressure lubrication gun
• Are used in:
• High-performance spindles on high speed moulders for the highest quality of surfaces (e.g. Hydromat-, Uniplan- series of Weinig)
• Processing widths larger than 230 mm
• Angular plants and tenoning machines with spindle lengths larger than 320 mm as top bearing
