powerControl PCPC stands for Power Control, a machine control system consisting of a powerful HMI industrial PC (IPC), a real-time industrial PC (RT-IPC) and a programmable control (PLC), e.g. NUM 1060. The HMI-IPC is the interface between the operator and the machine. On it, the software packages for the processing of workpieces and the management of the machine are installed. Depending on the equipment, design, operating data acquisition and control software for entire machine lines are added. This PC is generally stored well accessible in the control cabinet. The RT-IPC receives the commands from the user interface and converts those to control commands for the axes cards, ancillary equipment and the PLC. Noteworthy is the backup feature through which a 1-1 copy of the main hard drive is permanently created on a second hard disk or USB stick. This 'cloning' allows the quick restart of the machine even after a complete data loss. Since 2003, the Power Control is installed in machines of the member companies of the Homag Group. Since 2005, LINUX serves as operating system of the RT-IPCs. Power Control systems in the overviewPC16
