IMA BIMA 500

Short description

CNC-machining centre, designed as a cantilever machine, newly developed by IMA in 2009, which has been optimized for particularly high speed and acceleration values, with a low demand on space.

For the first time, this machine used an edgebanding aggregate using the Laser Edging method. The machine could be equipped with a variety of customer-specific options.

Standard equipment and basic options

  • Machine table (pod and rail table) with dimensions of 3.500 - 8.500 mm (in intervals of 1.000 mm) in X and of 2.150 mm in Y
  • Working spindle with up to 18 kW with C-axis
  • 2nd router head with up to 18 kW
  • Modular drilling unit with different configurations, from 15 to 26 drills
  • Instead of a working spindle with C-axis, a 5-axes spindle was also possible.
  • 18-fold tool changer with optimized position and accelerated tool exchange because of linear drive
  • Alternative/additional equipment with chain changers with up to 40 exchange positions
  • Edgebanding aggregate with Lasertech gluing unit for up to 60 mm edge height
