Refers to the presence of a saw on CNC-machining centres.
- Versions:
- Groove saw, fix in X or Y: groove saw integrated into the drilling unit, which can only be used in one direction
- Groove saw, traversable by 90°: groove saw integrated into the drilling unit, which can be rotated by 90° (usually via pneumatic devices) and thus, can work in either X or Y direction.
- Groove saw with its own C-axis: sawing unit, which is usually separately mounted on the aggregates support and can be rotated by 360° by a CNC axis. Often, such units are also used with larger blades for separating cuts.
- Saw aggregate as aggregate for tool changer: an aggregate exchangeable via tool changer. Here, restrictions for the blades´ diameter and working range are only made by the working range and maximum workpiece dimensions of the working spindle.
