Contour laserContour lasers generate any contour, which can be projected onto an even surface, by the deflection of the laser beam. In woodworking they are used as positioning aid on CNC machining centers for the correct positioning of the workpiece and, if needed, the suction cups. For example, they are used for complicated milling contours, when there is the danger of damaging the suction cups when the workpiece is not correctly positioned or when the workpiece to be clamped does not have a 90° angle for the positioning at the stops. Here, the programming software transfers the milling contour to the laser, which has to be exactly measured in and calibrated, via a control software. The laser then projects the contour, precisely corresponding with the cutting line, onto the working table of the machining center.
