Rip saw

Machine type mainly used for longitudinal cuts when trimming, splitting or ripping solid wood, panel materials made of wood, plastic or aluminum. Universally applicable also for trimming, diagonal cuts, miter cuts and cut outs.

Basic construction

In a machine body, a bottom-cutting, precision guided saw blade moves in longitudinal direction. The cutting length depends on the material to be processed, with common cutting lengths between 3.000 mm and 8.000 mm. The workpieces are placed freely or fitting to a back gauge on the machine table and pressed down by the pressure beam or an additional downholder. Usually, the saw blade is lowered below the machine table after the finished cut and moved back into its staring position.
