Technical design of panel sizing saws

System types in the field of beamsaws

Decisive for the choice of the technical design of a beamsaw can be:

  • Type and quantity of workpieces to be processed
  • Type and organisation of material supply and removal/storage/processing
  • Production organisation criteria
  • Spatial conditions
  • ...

Depending on the area of application, a distinction is made between:

  • Single saws with a cutting length of at least 2500 mm and only one cutting line/sawing unit. This works from below, the workpiece lies on top and the sawing unit moves for the cut.
  • Gantry saw
  • Diagonal saw - special form of gantry saw
  • Cross-cut saw - often also called a strip saw
  • Angular system
