Saw blade guide

The saw blade circulates on rollers in the corpus of the machine. To stop oscillation within the cutting zone and thus, to guarantee a good cut of the workpiece, it is held in its position by guiding fences in the visible area. Often, these devices are clearly visible (see image in the upper right) by a signal color (red, orange, yellow). Depending on the workpiece height, the upper one of these devices can be moved. The rule is: The shorter the distance between upper and lower guide, the fewer are the oscillations of the saw blade and the more precise is the cut. If different saw blade thicknesses are used, they can be manually set up by an adjusting screw at the guide. Two stops are pressed against the blade and thus, reduce the oscillation. Alternatively, some manufacturers use rollers (see image in the lower right).
