FESTO MDZ

Series of double end tenoners of the German manufacturer Festo with modular construction and a special, low working width of about 145 mm.

  • Production period: 1970s

In the basic equipment, these machines could be ordered as double cut-off saws with a sawing/ hogging aggregate per side of the machine. Later they can be further equipped with up to two milling aggregates and a scoring aggregate so they appear as fully valid double end tenoners.

The workpiece feed happened by feeding chains at the bottom with dogs and upper pressure with a contact following chain. Optionally the upper pressure could be ordered with a driven chain. A synchromesh ensured that the workpieces slung on the dogs of the lower chain via the upper chain.
