DIN/ISO programming

Creation of CNC-programs using code according to DIN 66025 or ISO 6983 (also called "G-Code"). A numeric control translates the orders into movements of the processing aggregates.

A program consists of words and sentences, which can contain the following information:

Program data Program- and sentence numbers for the structuring and identification of the individual sentences and of the program
Geometry data Travel ways of the tools given in coordinates or parameters
Technology data Information on the kind of processing and the tool settings

This kind of programming requires sound knowledge and is very time-consuming. In the late 1980s, CNC-machines were equipped with WOP-software for the first time to make the programming easier and to accelerate the process. The software allows the entering of the orders via a graphical interface, the user no longer has direct contact with the G-Code.
