Pressing powerOn presses it refers to the pressure acting on the workpiece. UnitsUsually, the pressing power is given in kg/cm². Thus, the pressing power is always related to an area. Thus, at the same total pressure t, the pressing power on a fully loaded veneer press is lower than on an only partly loaded pressing area. Physically, this unit is incorrect, an indication in N/cm² would be right. In practice, however, this is irrelevant, since 10 N corresponds to a weight force of about 1 kg.
