ABS edge material

Edge strip made of acrylonitrite-butadiene-styrene, short ABS

Because of its frequent use, the material is often referred to as 'ABS edge' or more generally as plastic edge or plastic edging. The ABS edgebands are offered in material thicknesses of 0.8 - 3.0 mm. It is recommended not to apply thin ABS edgings with the hot air method as chips coming out of the board are pressed through the edging. Processing is carried out using manual edge banding machines, automatic edge banding machines or CNC processing centres with special edge banding units.

As the production of ABS edgebands is easier than that of those made of polypropylene, ABS edgebands can be ordered even in small quantities. ABS edgebands are therefore mainly processed in craftsmen businesses.
