BRANDT KD

Very successful series of edgebanders for crafts and small industrial companies for the complete processing of workpiece edges.

Replaced the series KA, KE and KM, whereas the KD40 to KD60 series covered the lower power range. According to a leaflet of 2002, the KD 56 has been the most sold edgebanding machine until then.

KD 70 series and KD80 series

  • In 1993, the KD80 series replaced the edgebanding machines of the types KD 74 and KD 76 and the entire KM series. Initially, the machines of the types KD 80 to KD 87 have been green entirely. Since 1995, the KD 88 and KD 89 were added and Brandt equipped the machines with white noise protection hoods. Since 1993, the modular control system BS02 (later also BS03) with line control and interface for PC, where the aggregates could be chosen by small buttons has been new. The optional input unit Homatic NC16 allowed programming of route points and provided information on malfunctions. Particularly successful was the type KD 84 C because of its corner rounding unit.
  • In 2000, there was a series change. KD80 became 'ProfiLine' KD 75 to KD 79 D. The successful Optimats of the KD80 series replaced the white Optimats of the KD70 series as described in the table below. They used a newly developed corner rounding unit. Until then, two milling spindles had been guided to the workpiece by one diagonally rising linear guide each. In the newly developed aggregate, the spindles were hung to parallelogram swivel arms.
