Profile wrapping machine

Machines for applying a jacket to profiles and bases with finishing foils and other coating materials. From a cross-cut width of 450 mm foil lamination systems are used with flat workpieces. Membrane presses are intended for moulded panels or parts.

Technical method

The profiles to be coated are processed in throughfeed. First, the profiles are glued with a glue application system. With pre-glued coating material this is not necessary; here the glue is activated by heat. The coating material, from the roll or as sheet material, is now pressed onto the workpiece with a laminating roller. Various pressure rollers follow, in order to fully glue the profile. The profile determines the number and arrangement of the rollers with its cross-section.

In addition to these essential steps it is also possible that further processing stages may take place, depending on the machine equipment. These include:

  • Cutting the profiles: Cross cut saw
  • Separation of projecting veneer or paper: Non-tiltable milling or saw aggregate
  • Post-processing of the profile form: Sanding aggregates
