HOMAG PT table

Special machine table for CNC-machining centres.

A PT table is a self-adjusting machine table that is constructed on the principle of a pod and rail table. However, the consoles are not arranged transversely to the machine table, but longitudinally.

The consoles do not require the full length of the table, because the machines with PT table usually have 2 working spheres. In each working sphere the consoles are arranged abreast, so that there are altogether 4 consoles, on which the number of holding devices - selectable by the customer - are situated. On these holding devices suction cups or other clamping systems can be mounted.

A special feature of the table contains that movements of the table are possible during the workpiece processing. This is an advantage especially for the staircase construction, because thus for example plates can be divided into stairs and afterwards processed at the dividing line. It is an advantage for the construction of doors and windows, too, as ist offers the possibility to process four frame parts belonging together in only one clamping with big tools. The traverses move close together when the outer sides are processed and move far apart during the processing of the inner sides.

After a certain transition period, the table together with the autoClamp table was replaced by the AP System.
