The company ATEMAG in cooperation with HOLZ-HER developed this aggregate interface for the use on CNC-machining centres. It is an extented version of the Vario NC interface. The VarioToolChange aggregates can be used by means of the tool changer via aggregate interface.

By this system it is possible to carry out a 5-axes processing on a 4-axes machine. The 5th axis is a positioning axis and cannot interpolate due to the system. The 5th axis is adjusted inbetween the processing steps by the drive of the C-axis.

In contrast to Vario-NC, the VarioToolChange agrgegate has an intern interface for the tool exchange via separate tool changer. This tool interface is developed by the company on the base of the norm HSK40.

Alternative term:

In many brochures, HOLZ-HER uses the term VarioNC Plus, yet there is no clear distinction between the two terms.

It can be observed that the interface machine aggregate is preferably called VarioNC Plus, whereas in discriptions of the aggregate or the interface aggregate tool the term VarioToolChange is prefered.
