Since 1991 Masterwood constructs stationary CNC-machining centres as extension arm machine under this name.

Since 2012 most machines of this series are being constructed as moving gantry machines.

The series PROJECT is by far the most sold construction series of Masterwood and has initially been - by the robustness - the medium series. Opposed to the simpler series WINNER , it was a high-quality construction; opposed to the solid series ATLAS it was cheaper. The overwhelming majority of the machine of the PROJECT series was equipped with a console table. The grid table was optional most of the models.

Since around 2014, Masterwood has adapted their model policy to the growing demand of Nesting machines so that subsequently only console table machines have been run under the PROJECT series. The grid table machines are being run only under the MW series as well as the NESTING series. The only model, which does not fit to the other models is the PROJECT TF, where the workpiece is moving and not the working unit.

Models with console tables are exclusively available unter the term PROJECT, whilst machines with grid tables are being offered under the name NESTING. Both series are autonomously developments, which have been optimized based on the requirements of the respective table shape.

The only model which does not fit to the other models concerning the machine concept, is the PROJECT TF, where the workpiece moves and not the working unit.
