ABB

The Acronym ABB is put together from the Swedish company ASEA (Allmänna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget) and the Swiss company Brown, Boveri & Cie. Both companies have their core in the electro technology and fused 1988 to a multinational company with the main location in Zürich (Switzerland). The company is divided into four globally-acting division with the area energy technology, electronic technology, process automatization and industry automatization & drive.

ABB industry automatization and drive

This division offers automatization solutions for different branches, among also for the woodworking industry. For example, spraying lines, which only need one supervisor. The plants have one or more joint arm robots which are equipped with a installed tool or a changing head in order to execute different tasks with little effort. One solution spread in the metal processing is to handle both tool as well as workpiece with the help of robots. This technology will be called ABB as "multimove" This process is unnecessary with most of the panel-shaped workpieces in the furniture making or even more unpractical than the usage of a horizontal working area.
