Application and technical implementation

During a veneer-ripcut some types of wood tend to an outbreak of the lower cutting edges of single veneer strips although a pulled cut is executed. The reasons of this problem are on the one hand the thin and fragile material of wood and on the other hand the wedge effect of the cutters during the process.

The machine manufacturer solves this problem by firstly executing a precut and afterwards performing the recut immediatly in the same setting of the veneer package. By the second (re-)cut, the cutter performs a cut offset by a few thenths of millimeters and removes the broken cutting edges of the first cut. (peeling, shell cut).

As a result a perfect and rectangular cutting edge - free of outbreaks - is achieved.
