Scotch Brite

Name for material of the company 3M, which is used in wide belt sanders for satin-finishing brushes.

Material

ScotchBrite is made of unwoven plastic fibers, which are impregnated with an abrasive grain. This grain can be made of aluminum oxide or silicon carbide. ScotchBrite is available in different grain sizes of 80 up to 1000. The density of the plastic fibers is adapted to the respective application.

Application

  • Finish-sanding after the sanding pad aggregate
  • Polishing of varnished surfaces
  • Buffing of glued edgematerial on edgebanders
