Transversal processing

The feature of crosswise processing and transversal through feed respectively refers to the processing of the shorter workpiece edges in comparison to lengthwise processing, lengthwise through feed which is the processing of the longest edge.

Certain machines for lengthwise and/ OR transversal processing differ in their constructional features.

constructive features of length machines

With the transversal processing of double end tenoners and double-sided edgebanders it's crucial for the processing to have operated in a right angle to the longitudinal sides. The stops required for this are integrated in the form of cams in the bottom indeed chain. Within the manual laying on and the mechanizing handover respectively the workpiece will be put on the extended cams. For having supporting surfaces on the feed chains sufficiently available, they protrude on machines for the transversal processing over the feed belt of the top pressure.

work width

The work width on machines for transversal processing is mostly between 2.500 and 3.000 mm

worth knowing

Machines for the transversal processing are arranged in lines for the quadruple-sided workpiece processing according to the machine for the lengthwise processing. Transversal processing machines can be deployed both for the lengthwise as well as the transversal processing. They are, however, more expensive due to their constructive features.

window production

The angular centres for manufacturing windows lead to crosswise and lengthwise processing on a machine with each a spot for each of both ways of processing. Angular window machining centres the cross wise processing firstly takes place and eventually the lengthwise one.
