Name for aluminium multimaterial panels, made by 3A Composites GmbH, Singen/ Germany. ALUCOBOND was developped for facade panelling of buildings.

Panel construction

• aluminum on both sides, 0,5 mm thick
• filling - according to required panel properties:
• Polyethylene (LDPE)
• mineral-filled polymer, hardly inflammable (ALUCOBOND plus)
• mineral fillers with polymer binders, not inflammable (ALUCOBOND A2)

Processing

This material is processed as usual in sawing and milling technology. The edge milling is a special technical method, with a special milling tool cutting a single-sided v-curved groove into the panel, yet, without cutting through. Depending on the angle of the milling tool, ALUCOBOND can be folded and thus be shaped to facade elements.

• Example: processing by means of vertical panel saw; special equipment for the machines is required, e.g.:
• full-face support of the workpieces, for preventing deflection of thin panels
• scanner device for setting exact milling depth
• v-curved groove milling tool.
