SCM Penta interface

The SCM Penta is an aggregate interface for CNC- Machining centre of the SCM-Group. This interface is nearly identical with qinX System of Benz and was developped with Benz.

The Scm Penta interface enlarges main spindles with a vector-axis so that the tools can pivote in special Penta aggregates and there is an additonal non-interpolating 5th axis (A-axis).

Penta was constructed especially as an economical solution for uncomplicated machines; higher qualified machines are equipped with spindles of the seriesPrisma.

The functionality of SCM Penta interface differs absolutely from those of other producers. Their concept consists in an A-axis pivoting by a turning of C-axis or main spindle. Penta aggregates dispose of a lockable linear sliding device, over which the tool in the aggregate can be pivoted. This device is completely independant of the C-axis C-Achse. A counter part is fixed to the machine table. In order to change the pivoting angle, the counterpart is moved forward while the aggregate engages. Now the pivoting angle can be changed by moving the aggregate up and down.
