BIESSE Multistore

Multistore is a supplementary extern tool change magazine for CNC-machining centres with up to 60 tool positions.

The multistore magazine was introduced in 2001 at first for the models Biesse Rover 22,24,35 and 37. Since then it can be used on most Biesse machines.

Function:

  • The multistore magazine is installed outside the secured working range so that it can be equipped safely.
  • It has 3 disc tool changers each with 20 positions on one axis. Every disc can be equipped in two different editions. The edition for small tools, e.g. for finger millers, has 20 changing spots with relatively low distance in command. The edition for big tools, like window tools, only every second spot will be used, so that every dics contains 10 changing spots.
  • The main working spindle can not be equipped directly from the multistore magazine. A gripper takes the chosen tool from the disc changer and fits it into the free position of the toolchanger on the machine. The working spindle can only change the tool from the changing device going along.
  • As such a tool change procedure is rather time consuming, the multistore magazine is used for keeping many tools permanently ready. In most cases, the machine is equipped with all needed tools before starting, so that a change with multistore is prevented.
