BENZ QinX

Benz QinX is a variant of an aggregate for CNC machining centres. QinX is functionally comparable to the SCM Penta system.

The designation QinX was briefly used for units around 2010, but these were subsequently labelled 5-MOTION.

QinX units can be used on most main spindles with torque support, enable the swivelling of tools in the unit and thus a non-interpolating 5th axis (A-axis).

Mode of operation:

Units from other manufacturers with a similar function usually swivel the A-axis via the rotary movement of C-axis or main spindle. To do this, the machine must be equipped with a suitable interface from the outset.

The QinX unit was developed so that machines without an existing 4.5-axis function can be retrofitted if required.

The units have a coupling that is connected to the swivelling device for the A-axis via a gearbox.

The swivelling device is located on the machine table. If the swivelling angle is to be changed, the main spindle moves to this device with the unit inserted and engages the unit there.

The swivelling angle can now be adjusted by moving the Z-axis with the unit engaged.

Advantage:

No special preparation of the main spindle is necessary, the QinX unit can be used on most CNC machining centres regardless of the manufacturer.
