The unit interface for the 4th/5th axis is about a holding fixture for special aggregates in CNC-machining centres. They are capable of conducting an additional swiveling arm via the drive for the c-axis (alternatively several single systems use the drive for the z-axis or the motor of the working spindle as well.

Via the order of such unit a 5th axis can be simulated, although this machine has only four drives for separate cNC-axes in command.

Determined by the system, this 5th axis can only be deployed as positioning axis. A real 5-axes spindle is still required for 3-D milling.
