Automatic feeding belt control

Equipment feature of wide belt sanders with the task of aligning the conveyor belt during the operation in the middle of drive and clamping roller.

Technical principle

If only stressed on one side, the conveyor belt would run laterally and be damaged at the edges. The belt clamping device is designed in a way that the belt always runs to one side by itself. A tracing device on this side registers the belt edge. By means of pneumatic cylinders the end of the clamping roller can be moved, so that the distance to the drive roller can be enlarged or shrank on this side. Tracing device and pneumatic cylinder are pneumatically coupled. If the belt moves runs against the tracing device, this results in an extension of the pneumatic cylinder. By this change of distance the belt now runs to the opposite side. If the tracing device does no longer register the belt, it turns off the pneumatic cylinder.
