Term from the field of feed-through machines/ feed-through technology on double end tenoners, edge processing lines and machine lines respectively for edge processing. It´s quite revealing that the workpieces in transversal through-feed only be processed on the short sides, whilst at the lengthwise through-feed, the processing take place on the longer side. The transversal processing is fundamentally the second preparatory stage and comes after the lengthwise throughfeed.
