Common names depending on the dimensions

• board: caliper 8-40 mm, width 80- 300 mm.
• square timber: caliper ≥ 60 mm, width B ≥ caliper
• plank: caliper ≥ 40 mm, width > 2x caliper
• beam: caliper ≥ 60 mm, width ≥ 200 mm
• batten: caliper 16-40 mm, width ≤ 80 mm
• batten: caliper up to 16mm, width ≤ 80 mm
• veneer: caliper 0.2 to 2.5 mm
• sawn veneer: caliper 1.5 to 10 mm
