Medium density fibreboard (MDF)

Medium-dense fibreboards, also called MDF-panels consist of sawmill by-products, wood chips or of woody fibres from regrowing plants. The components will be pressed together with an adhesive. The exact composition and density of the panel comply with the later purpose of usage.

Open wood fibres are pressed together with an adhesive and create a homogenic, very well-processed woodwork material. Unlike chipboards the narrow areas (edges) can be lacquered or coated without fixation of edge bands.

Usage

MDF panels will be used as timber for e.g. interior fittings, carrier plates for floors and formwork etc. In furniture construction as component of shelves, cupboards, etc... As wrapping material e.g. MDF-panels for heavy objects will be used for e.g. machine parts to underlay and stabilize to facilitate their transportation.
