Laminboard

Laminboard consists of wood cores and one and two surface layers respectively. For the wood core, light and cheap coniferous wood is being used. These thin laminboards will be glued together, on which sperrfurnier is put on. For the top layer, a suitable coating (veneer, respell, etc.) is being used. The top layer is more resistent against external influences.

usage

In the furniture production, laminboard is a component of shelves and cupboards, but is still suppressed by other types of panels. Due to the low weight, laminboard is being increasingly used in house boats and caravans.

common types of wood

Coniferous wood, like pine, spruce or fir, will often be used for the core. The top layer made of sperrfurnier consists mostly of pine and beech.
