Six-sided workpiece processing

The six-sided processing of panel-shaped workpieces on machines in a clamping is additionally problematic. For a mechanical processing, each workpiece has to be clamped. In the field of clamping devices, no processing can take place.

With steady CNC-machining centres the workpieces are mostly clamped on one of both areas, so that only one area as well as four narrow sides can be usually processed in a clamping.

Steady types of machines, with which the workpieces will be transported along with collet chuck grippers. Here a double-sided processing of the big areas are possible, though a narrow side cannot be processed (at least in the gripper´s area).

For the models of the Biesse Skipper and Weeke BHX 500 series and their successor Homag BHX 500 respectively emerging and submerging units are being offered optionally, which allow a processing on the narrow side, on which collet chucks are located.

With throughput machines all-sided machining can be more easily implemented, as several stations can be set one after and thus the workpiece also can be clamped in every station in different ways. Insofar the necessity of machining in a clamping can be omitted.
