The company, founded in 1962, is worldwide one of the leading developers and providers of special tools for the laminate, parquet lVT-(Luxury Vinyl Tiles -paving tiles from PVC)- and furniture industry. The company produces on an area of 18 000 m2 cutting machines, processing units, suction cups and pressure and sliding skids as well as gauging technology for all areas of the wood processing industry. The company is located in the hessian Herford.

In 2003 Prewi already started the developments of units, which have been sold under the name "S & P".
