In CNC-machining centres by manufacturer Morbidelli a mechanical operating hours counter was situated outside on the control panel at machines before around 2005. This was also optionally available and is therefore not to found on all of the machines. The counter takes records of the activation time of the vacuum pump.

From the beginning of the 2000´s on, with the launch of the Xilog Plus software, the software operating hour counter has been deployed, which has been used in the machining centres by SCM as well.

From around 2005 on, no general, mechanical operating hours counter has been used any more.
