Since about 2003 the additional equipment features of the i-series are integrated in all robots of the Fa. FANUC. The robots of the i-series are standardly equipped with a visual and sensory recognition software. This provides an automatisation with a high service capacity with human-like capabilities. The self-developed iRVision software allows the robots to work intelligently and efficiently. FANUC robots have been programmed to cooperate with other robots in a network and to learn from each other to optimise their own motion sequences and thus to reduce the costs of maintenance. ZDT (Zero Down Time) technology is a preventive diagnosis function which prognoses early possible malfunctions via access to the internet and in exchange of information with other robot units taking maintenance data into account in order to prevent said malfunctions in time.
