Robots and controls

A big part of COMAU product panels are robots with load capacities from 3 to 650 kg, with hollow wave robots 5 to 270 kg, the scopes from 630 to 7300mm. Besides the multi-applicable joint-arm robots COMAU offers special robots, which are suitable for pallettization or also for the automatization of press feeding with heavy components.

In order to stand out in the competition COMAU has developed a system with B&R, with which COMAU can control robots via available control systems, which improves the networking and may decrease the program elaboration.

History

2009-2011	The company opens the non-automobile sectors of the industry and founds branches such as COMAU Aerospace, eCOMAU and COMAU Adaptive Solutions in order to better coordinate the needs. With introduction of eCOMAU the company starts to provide concrete solutions which helps companies to accomplish sustainability targets and the ensure the biggest possible energy efficiency.
2000's	COMAU expands their presence in Europe and opens establishments in China, Romania and Russia. After Renault Automatisation SA in France, a company specialized on machine construction and final manufacturing of specialized companies, COMAU takes over PICO, a company of assembly lines for body frames with establishments in the US, Mexico, Germany and the UK.
1989	The division for Adaptive Solutions now also develops solutions for the areas of utility and heavy-duty vehicles, railways and renewable energies with a separate division with the focus on the aviation industry.
1080's	COMAU expands in the US and develops the CPS (COMAU Productivity Systems) as support for the commerical and industrial development. General Motors invests in COMAU and acquires 20% of the company. In the 2nd half of the 80's the enorm development of the laser technology begins, and COMAU develops in cooperation with TRUMPF the first laser robot, for which there was a high demand with GM.
1978	Robot solutions will be part of the core business with the automobile industry as main customer.
1977	COMAU has been founded out of the mergence of several mechanical engineers around the Italian town of Turin, after they've already been delivering mutual parts for a Soviet car construction factory in 1973.
