SCM TecPad

The TecPad is a programmable remote control for CNC machining centres. It was introduced in 2011 and is used on machines throughout the SCM Group.

The TecPad is wired as standard, but a wireless version is also available as an option. It replaces the simpler remote control previously used by the SCM Group.

On some machines the TecPad is standard, in some cases it is only available as an optional extra.

The TecPad is also used as mobile display unit for the fully automatic Pilot machine table.

The TecPad has far more functions than most other remote control for CNC-machining centres. Almost all basic functions of the control system can be called up on its own 7" touch screen display.

Due to the large number of controllable machine functions, there were variants of the SCM PRATIX S and the largely identical BUSELLATO EASY JET, in which no control console other than the TecPad was available on the machine. Programs were created in the office or on a laptop, sent to the TecPad via network or USB stick and were uploaded the machine from there.

In 2019, a new version of the TecPad was introduced, with a larger screen and clearer layout, initially only for the most powerful machines. This was introduced on all CNC machines in the SCM Group by 2021.

Overall, the look and operation are now more like a tablet or smartphone.
